Welcome to the Learning Center (LC) at the United Synagogue of Hoboken (USH)
Our vibrant Religious School serves students from Pre - K 4 through 12th grade, helping them build a joyful and meaningful connection to Jewish life.

Located in Hoboken, NJ, the LC offers dynamic, hands-on learning through prayer, study, music, art, and the celebration of Shabbat and Jewish holidays. We recognize that every child learns differently, and our diverse, engaging curriculum ensures there’s something meaningful for everyone.

Whether exploring Torah, Mitzvot, Jewish ethics, or Tefillah, students are encouraged to see Judaism as a source of joy, purpose, and lifelong connection. We believe that learning should be fun and that families should feel at home in our community.

Schedule Overview:
  • Grades K - 3: Tuesdays (4 - 5:30 pm) & two Saturdays/ month (10:30 am - 12:15 pm)
  • ​Grades 4 - 7: Thursdays (4 - 6:30 pm) & two Saturdays/ month (10:30 am - 12:15 pm)
  • Grade 8: Thursdays (6:30 - 8:00 pm) meet twice a month (once at USH and once in student’s homes.)
  • Grades 9-11: Thursdays/Wednesdays (6:30 - 8:00 pm) meet twice a month (once at USH Thursday / once in student’s homes Wednesday)
  • Grades 12: Thursdays (6:30 - 8:00 pm) meet once a month
  • All Grades: Invited to Sunday morning Museum adventures and Shabbat morning family learning programs throughout the year. ​

New This Year!
Our elective-based program for grades 4 - 7 offers rotating, hands-on courses that connect students to Jewish values, tradition, and identity through creativity, collaboration, and exploration. Each elective runs 8 - 10 weeks and reflects core themes from Jewish text, culture, and heritage. Elective ideas include exploring the synagogue’s stained glass window stories through an artistic lens, studying Jewish history and culture through food, or creating our own comic books using popular Torah stories.
